The elephant Freedom Project
[ SRI LANKA | 2025 ]In a small Sri Lankan town, Shashini and the Elephant Freedom Project team devote themselves to their two rescued elephants Kumari and Manike. Giving back to their community while transforming the face of tourism through care and respect. They face many challenges and work towards banning elephant riding and changing the way the industry treats the animals. Their story shows that tourism can be compassionate, sustainable, and deeply connected to both animals and people.

This film follows Lidia's relationship with dance, exploring how it connects her to her Argentinian culture and identity. Since childhood, through both the highs and lows of life, dance has always been there for her. From tango to more recently folklore, her passion has helped her shape who she is. Dancing continues to guide her through life’s challenges, offering comfort, strength, and a strong sense of belonging. La Abuela is a slow, intimate, and fragile piece that reflects on the importance of art within cultures and communities. It explores dance as a form of expression, connection, and liberation, a way to free both the body and the mind through movement.

It’s the second time I’ve been lucky enough to head there, and I love the feeling of chaos mixed with a deep sense of peace. It probably comes from the disconnection—being immersed in such a different culture definitely gives you the opportunity to learn and absorb its richness and timeless spirit.
