[ About ME ]■
Hi, I’m Louis Richter, a passionate filmmaker, photographer, and ocean lover creating meaningful and impactful cinematic storytelling.
Beyond the ocean, I’m deeply passionate about filmmaking as a storytelling tool. Whether it’s the raw energy of wildlife encounters, the subtle beauty of natural landscapes, or the emotional depth of personal stories, I’m driven by the challenge of capturing real moments in motion.
I work across short documentary films, promotional videos, and branded content, adapting easily to the needs of each project.
[ SERVICES & WORKFLOW ]From run-and-gun shoots and interviews to cinematic productions, drone work, and natural-light environments, I enjoy embracing challenges and working with real conditions. I’m involved in every stage of the creative process.
From pre-production and planning, to shooting, post-production, and colour grading. There’s something powerful about documenting life in its rawest, wildest form, and I aim to do it with respect, care, and curiosity.
My Approach
[ EXPERIENCE ]For the past five years, I’ve called the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia home. During this time, I’ve worked full-time as a photographer and videographer, capturing moments with the local wildlife such as manta rays, whale sharks, and humpback whales. I run a small media company called Ocean Collective Media, working alongside a team of ocean-minded creatives to produce photo and video content for boat operators on the reef. Together, we help visitors take home powerful memories of their time in the water and, hopefully, a deeper appreciation for what lies beneath the surface.
